Tag. Thanks for the scan.
This made me laugh when a JW family member gave me it. I think it was actually intended to get me to question my researching.

What if they are about to "close the ark door"?
by Mickey mouse inwe know the book study is about to be cut.
i am reading talk here of the preaching work being declared "over" and possible changes in disfellowshipping policy.. we know the wbts is running low on funds.
they don't make money from the literature and the new recruits are going straight back out of the revolving door.

Apostate Dilemma
by Princess Daisy Boo inoh, sit tight... i need to tell you a bit of background first.... oh, about 12/13 years ago, when i was still in, i became friends with a little crowd of dubs that were new to our area and cong.
they were quite a liberal bunch - certainly the most liberal i had ever come across and although they were striving for priviledges etc, they got up to a lot of naughty sh!t and definitly committed dfable offences.
well i wasn't exactly innocent either... i was just relieved to have come accross likeminded friends that my parents wouldn't get on my case about.

Be gentle, but honest as the situation allows.
If they really want to go back to the WTS, they will - whatever you say. -

Why do we get stumbled out of JW's because of imperfect people?
by reniaa ini see this a lot on this forum, loads of people saying they left jw's because of "hypocritical ....... ( put elder, pioneer, couple, sister, brother, governing body) here.. but?.
why would you expect any man-run organisation if you believe the bible, to have to be perfect and not be full of imperfect people that will come across as hypocritical?.
the bible examples from israelites onwards name anyone :- moses, king david, pharasees, paul the one thing the bible doesn't do is white-wash them it shows that however much we follow the laws we are always fighting our own imperfection usually failing every time and needing to be corrected sometimes punished (moses had to give-up chance of seeing the foretold land), so why do we hold this against jw's as a reasons not to be a jw's anymore?.

Hi reniaa,
I've also had similar thoughts regarding those who say that others' hypocrisy was the spark of their awakening. But maybe that's because I never really had much reason to be pissed off by those in responsibility myself. Whatever it was that gave someone a clue that the WTS is not what it claims to be, it's good that they're out.
I've read the bible in many different versions and one thing i find clear is it does predict the time of the end etc it does predict "signs" etc that will happen, on just this alone my search of christian religions that actually teach this gets very narrow most saying we goto heaven and thats it end of.
Those who seriously want to believe in the bible should be grateful that mainstream Christianity doesn't preach that the end is nigh like JWs do. A relatively short time spent in proper research of Daniel, for example, will soon show you that its predictions, which concerned the Jews under oppression from Greece, ultimately failed. Try "Daniel, with an Introduction to Apocalyptic Literature", John J. Collins.

Apostate-attack on a JW-stand in Norway (with pictures)
by AntiKrist ini was during last weekend in oslo, norway, to have an apostate meet-up.
we had the purpose of creating a new apostate association in norway.
however, guess if we didn't run into a jw-stand right next to a scientology-stand in the city centre (the text on the poster translates: "what happens to us when we die?)!.

Who really OWNS each Kingdom Hall?
by gaiagirl inare the kh's owned by the local congregation, the trustees of the local congregation, wtbts, etc?

So, in theory, the WTBTS could decide to sell every single Kingdom Hall on this planet and they could legally keep the profit?

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

I Feel Lost
by insearchof ini'm a jw in good standing.i was born a jw.my dad was an elder for about 15 years but he stoped going to the hall about 3 years ago.but i have doubts about the org.basically i don't think that we are living in the end,i don't think the earth will ever be a paradise.it really don't seem logical to me.anyway i feel like i'm having an inner fight between what i was raised to be and what i now believe.the only reason why i still go to the meeting is because of my mom and husband.i came here because i think that everyone here can help me.

Hi insearchof,
Welcome to the forum.
I was born into the JW's. On the point of feeling lost, I now consider the aim of trying to find "the truth" a strange thing to do. There are things that we, as humans, just do not and likely will never know. I am now trying to be happy to accept myself for who I am, and work with the world I find myself in rather than against it.
In case you want to find the truth out about the JW view of the bible, I recommend the following book:
It doesn't seek to destroy faith in Christianity, but it does put right the fundamental misunderstandings of groups like Jehovah's Witnesses that lead to disappointment.
All the best with your journey. Stay true to yourself.

What is the best way to help Fundamentalist Literalist Christians...
by BurnTheShips ini would like to discuss what is the best way to help fundamentalist literalist christians lower their guard and embrace science as it reveals the physical world to us?.
of course the key scientific teaching that causes a sticking point is evolution, not to mention other things such as the age of the universe.. burn.

The following book should be very helpful:
How to Read the Bible: History, Prophecy, Literature - Why Modern Readers Need to Know the Difference, and What It Means for Faith Today, Steven L. McKenzie
It doesn't attempt to destroy faith in any way. It promotes understanding of the literature in the bible by highlighting genre.
